On Sunday January 8 – the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord – the Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Murang’a presided over Catholic Diocese of Murang’a ‘s (CDM) inauguration and declaration of the 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑.
The launch and declaration took place during the first Family Day celebrations of Epiphany of the Lord Wang’uru Catholic Parish, which was inaugurated on June 11, 2022.
To be celebrated under the 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞, “𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟔:𝟒𝟖), the Year will have 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬:
1. 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞
2. 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞
3. 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞
4. 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞
5. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐞
The 𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 for this Year will be:

During the launch attended by representatives from the Diocese’s 53 Parishes ,the bishop received and blessed the logo, banner, prayer and guidelines’ books that will be used throughout the Year.
The launch of the Year of the Eucharist 2023 comes after the Diocese successfully celebrated the 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 under the theme, “Go therefore, make disciples of all nations, and be my witness” (Matthew 28:19, Acts 1:8).
The bishop is 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠'𝐚 𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐄𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭. It is my hope and desire that the Christians will cooperate in order to help achieve the set objectives for this Year.
