We are seeking a skilled and creative Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality visual content for various projects, including designing print materials and managing digital assets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Creating visually appealing designs for a wide range of print and digital materials, including brochures, flyers, posters, social media graphics, and website content.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop design concepts that align with the Diocese’s mission and branding guidelines.
- Utilizing various cameras for photography and video recording, capturing high-quality images and footage.
- Preparing and producing the monthly Kikuyu Diocesan Magazine, ensuring timely production, marketing, and distribution.
- Utilizing industry-standard software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), to execute design projects efficiently and effectively.
- Managing digital assets, including photos, illustrations, and other graphic elements, ensuring they are organized and accessible for use in various projects.
- Sourcing and designing advertisements to appear in the Diocesan Magazine.
- Working closely with the communications team to develop and implement strategic marketing campaigns that promote Diocesan events, initiatives, and programs.
- Managing and updating social media and CDM website profiles with timely and relevant content, including text, images, and videos.
- Staying informed about design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the quality and impact of our visual communications.
- Assisting with other design-related tasks and projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the team.
- Any other job as assigned.
Qualification and Competencies
- Diploma in Graphic Design or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Proficiency in writing, reading, and speaking kikiyu language.
- Must be a Catholic because of the production of a catholic Magazine.
- Excellent understanding of website and social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience with photography and video recording/editing.
- Knowledge of print production processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
