Chancery<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>

To take care of the acts of the\u00a0CURIA<\/strong>\u00a0are drawn up, dispatched and that they are kept safe in archive of the curia. (Canon 482).<\/p>

Other Roles include:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Making available the Church registers promptly. E.g. Baptism Registers Death Registers ,Confirmation Registers and Marriage Registers.<\/li>
  • Granting of \u201cSanatio in Radice<\/em>\u201d in the name of the Bishop.<\/li>
  • Granting of other marriage dispensations as per the law and mandate given to us by the Bishop.<\/li>
  • Reception of the marriage certificates and smiting them to the civil registrar\u2019s office in Nairobi.<\/li>
  • Advising the Church ministers on pastoral issues as they emerge<\/li>
  • Communicating to the Sacred ministers of of relevant legal up-dates from the government of Kenya.<\/li><\/ul>

    The office the notary involves<\/strong><\/p>

    1. Writing acts and documents concerning decrees, arrangements obligations, and other matters which requires their intervention;<\/li>
    2. Faithfully recording in writing what is done, and signing the document, with a note of the place, the day, the month and the year;<\/li>
    3. While observing all that be observed, showing acts or documents from the archives to those who lawfully request them, and verifying that copies conform to the original.<\/li><\/ol>

        The tribunal of the Catholic Diocese of Murang\u2019a is called Diocesan Tribunal of Murang\u2019a (DTM). The DTM is regulated by<\/p>

        2. The instructions Dignitas Connnubii<\/li>
        3. Mitis Index<\/li>
        4. The present guidelines<\/li><\/ol>

          Competence<\/strong><\/p>

          1. Has competence over marriage issues<\/li>
          2. Is the court of 10 instance for the catholic Diocese of Murang\u2019a.<\/li>
          3. Is ordinary court of appeal for the Archdiocese of Nyeri.<\/li>
